The history of the Peter and May brand

Founded in Paris in 2012, PETER AND MAY is the fruit of the collaboration between Laura Le Bihan and Xavier Matrand, who shared a common background in the high-end eyewear sector. Their first source of inspiration was a small punched button from a French couture house, discovered in an antique shop, which gave birth to the famous cross-stitch that has become the brand's hallmark.

At the heart of their design approach, they sought to combine thoughtful shapes, optimum comfort and high technical standards. The Peter and May brand also finds further artistic expression in its imagery and collaborations, which testify to their overflowing imagination and desire to create.

Right from the start of their adventure, Laura and Xavier set out to establish their own design studio. Their creations were soon noticed and supported by prestigious players such as Colette, Moda Operandi and Dover Street Market. Today, they are also involved in the development of eyewear for designers such as JACQUEMUS and ÉTUDES, partnering them in production and distribution.

PETER AND MAY eyewear is now available in a selection of concept stores and optical boutiques around the world, testifying to their growing success and international presence.
