Men's prescription glasses

Choosing men's prescription glasses is no longer simply about correcting your vision. Today, a frame reflects a personality, accompanies a lifestyle and plays a full part in masculine elegance. Worn from morning to night, they must offer excellent comfort while fitting naturally into your style, whether you are in a meeting, behind the wheel, in front of a computer or during your leisure time.

Current collections offer a great diversity of designs and materials. Some men look for a discreet frame that pairs easily with a suit, while others prefer a bolder model capable of becoming a true fashion accessory. From minimalist designs to luxury frames crafted from exceptional materials, the possibilities today are numerous.

At Céline Roland Opticiens, independent opticians based in Mulhouse, Colmar and Riedisheim, we have brought together a selection of men's prescription glasses from the greatest houses to meet every desire. Each frame is chosen for its design, the quality of its craftsmanship and its comfort, in order to offer you equipment designed to last.

How to choose men's prescription glasses suited to your everyday life?

A frame must above all adapt to your pace of life. A man who works several hours in front of a screen will not have the same expectations as a business executive frequently on the move or a sports enthusiast. Comfort, the weight of the frame, its durability and its fit are all criteria that influence the choice.

For professional use, many prefer elegant frames with clean lines that inspire confidence while remaining comfortable. Active men, for their part, appreciate models capable of withstanding frequent travel and long days. Golf, tennis, mountain biking, running or hiking enthusiasts often look for more technical frames offering excellent stability during physical effort.

The choice of material also plays an important role. A titanium frame appeals through its lightness and exceptional durability, acetate brings more character and a rich variety of colours, while metal remains a reliable choice for its elegance. Rimless frames offer a particularly discreet look and a wide field of vision, while models crafted in gold appeal to lovers of exceptional eyewear.

Which frame to choose according to the shape of your face?

Face shape is one of the first criteria to consider when looking for a frame that enhances your features. The general principle is to choose a shape that contrasts with that of the face to create a natural balance.

Oval faces have the advantage of suiting almost all frames, from square models to rounder shapes and rectangular ones. Square faces are softened by round or oval frames that reduce sharp angles, such as Moscot models or round Oliver Peoples styles. Round faces are enhanced by rectangular or square frames that elongate the face, as seen with Gucci or Tom Ford models. Finally, long faces are balanced by wide, deep frames that visually shorten the face.

Our opticians are available to advise you during an in-store fitting at our boutiques in Mulhouse, Colmar and Riedisheim.

The great houses shaping men's prescription eyewear

Men's eyewear today is driven by houses that constantly push the boundaries of design and craftsmanship. Each has its own identity and caters to a different vision of elegance.

Men looking for a refined frame naturally turn to Cartier, whose creations draw inspiration from the world of high jewellery. The finishes are remarkable, the lines timeless and the materials selected with the utmost discernment. The Gucci collections offer a more contemporary approach where volumes, the House's iconic signatures and graphic details allow you to express your style with elegance.

For those passionate about exclusive pieces, MAYBACH represents the pinnacle of luxury eyewear. Some frames are crafted from prestigious materials such as titanium, carbon fibre or gold, illustrating an exceptional level of finish. Lovers of authenticity also appreciate Moscot, whose collections perpetuate the heritage of New York eyewear for over a century.

Other prestigious houses such as Tom Ford, Akoni, Masunaga, Oliver Peoples, Fred, Loewe, Prada and Saint Laurent also enrich our selection so that every man can find a frame matching his style.

Certain frames stand out for their design, their quality of craftsmanship and their success with our clientele.

The Gucci Logo GG1221O prescription glasses appeal through their contemporary style and assertive personality. Optical lenses tailored to your vision

A beautiful frame deserves optical lenses perfectly suited to your prescription and your lifestyle. At Céline Roland Opticiens, our qualified opticians create fully personalised equipment to meet your visual needs.

Depending on your prescription and your daily use, we recommend single vision lenses, progressive lenses, anti-reflection coatings, blue light protection, photochromic lenses or corrective tinted lenses. Each piece of equipment is made to measure to provide optimal visual quality, whether you are at the office, on the move or during your sporting activities.

Mutual insurance reimbursement and 100% Santé

Prescription glasses are covered by the Sécurité Sociale and mutual insurance providers under the 100 % Santé reform, which guarantees zero out-of-pocket cost on certain equipment. For frames outside the 100 % Santé basket, the level of reimbursement depends on your mutual insurance contract. Céline Roland Opticiens is approved by the majority of mutual insurers and operates direct billing, which means you do not need to pay upfront for covered costs. Do not hesitate to contact us to check your coverage before purchasing.

Frequently asked questions about men's prescription glasses

What is the difference between single vision lenses and progressive lenses?

Single vision lenses correct a single type of vision, either distance or near, and are suitable for people who are short-sighted, long-sighted or astigmatic without presbyopia. Progressive lenses, on the other hand, incorporate several corrections in a single lens and allow clear vision at all distances, both near and far. They are recommended from the age of forty, when presbyopia begins to manifest. Our opticians will guide you towards the solution best suited to your prescription and your lifestyle.

Can frames be tried on in store before ordering?

Yes, of course. Our three boutiques in Mulhouse, Colmar and Riedisheim welcome you for a fitting under real conditions. Our opticians advise you on shapes suited to your face, the materials best suited to your daily life and the lenses corresponding to your prescription.

Are premium prescription glasses reimbursable?

Premium frames such as Cartier, MAYBACH or Gucci are not part of the 100 % Santé basket, but they may be partially covered by your mutual insurance depending on your contract. The amount reimbursed varies from one insurer to another.

How long does it take to receive your glasses after ordering?

The manufacturing lead time depends on the type of lenses and the complexity of your prescription. For most equipment, allow between 10 and 15 working days. Certain specific lenses, such as bespoke progressive lenses or high-prescription corrections, may require additional time. Our opticians will inform you of the precise lead time at the point of order.
